When it comes to compact sedans, efficiency and innovative technology is the name of the game. That’s why here at Coast Honda we’re inviting you to check out the 2017 Honda Civic. Superb performance awaits you under the hood, while an interior chock-full of comfort amenities waits for you on the inside. To prove its greatness, we have pitted it against the competitive 2017 Nissan Sentra. After this comparison, you’ll see why the Civic is far superior than the Sentra.

We begin our competition by seeing what each one has to offer underneath their respective hoods. You’ll find a standard 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that delivers a thrifty 158 horsepower and 138 lb.-ft. of torque. Of course, upgrading to the available 1.5L 4-cylinder engine couldn’t hurt, as it gives you a spirited 174 horsepower and 167 lb.-ft. of torque. The standard powertrain in the Nissan Sentra doesn’t even come close, as its 1.8L 4-cylinder engine only manages to produce 130 horsepower and 128 lb.-ft. of torque. While it does offer a 1.6L 4-cylinder powertrain that produces 188 horsepower and 177 lb.-ft. of torque, you will only find this on the SL model, which means you’ll have to spend a lot more money to get it. What’s more, the Sentra only provides you with a fuel rating of 27/35/30 MPG city/hwy/combined1, whereas the Civic’s fuel efficiency rating of 28/39/32 MPG city/hwy/combined2 takes you much farther without stopping to refuel.

The Honda Civic also comes fully loaded with all of the technology and amenities you need right on its base model. A 5-inch central display provides instant access to all of your electronics, including a rearview camera3. Don’t hesitate, though, to upgrade to the available 8-inch touchscreen for easier access. There is no screen of any kind, and therefore, no rearview monitor4 available in the Sentra’s base model. Also, the biggest screen that you’ll be given in the Sentra is a 5-inch touchscreen. Using Bluetooth®5 phone and audio connectivity, you can operate your smartphone hands-free in the Civic. Receive text messages, place phone calls, and even take control of your music through Apple Carplay™6 and Android Auto™7 compatibility.  You’ll only receive the Bluetooth®8 hands-free phone system in the Sentra and miss out on the other two amenities, as they are not offered at all. Enjoy your tunes as they are played through an 8-speaker audio system in the Civic. You may be disappointed by the sound that is emitted by the Sentra’s 6-speaker sound system.

I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my experience in getting My mother in laws leased car turned over to a finance at this week. I worked with Chris Voigt and Mike in finance and they were so helpful in a bad situation that my mother in law caused. She was going to trade in her leased Accord for a new one but never did a test drive. When she went to take delivery she was so uncomfortable with the new car she panicked and could not drive it. She is 86 yrs old and can not adjust well to change or make decisions easily. They were so patient helped her keep her existing car by getting it financed through Honda. I would highly recommend your dealership to friends and family and want to make sure your staff is recognized for the great job they did.

I can not say enough about this place. They are the BEST. Robin and Liz gave me a super fair price immediately in an email. Other dealers refused to even come close and toms river told me, in a very arrogant way, that there was no way I would get the car for what coast offered and let me walk out the door. Well, I got even better, so they were sooo wrong. I saved a lot of money. Dennis was our salesman, and honestly was so nice ...but I barely spent any time with him because this deal was so easy and so quick. Seriously, don't bother going anywhere else.
